MISSION STATEMENT

To develop and maintain an economic climate which will create jobs and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of the Horn Lake area.

GOALS & OBJECTIVES

To continue increasing Chamber membership, generating participation and income.

To maintain and increase jobs and expand the tax base of the City of Horn Lake by recruiting commercial, retail, professional and residential businesses.

To develop and improve work skills of potential workforce through training and improving customer service.

To support the City of Horn Lake committees on signs, cleanup and community pride awards.

To promote and enhance the image of the Horn Lake area.

	.THE FIRST EVER HLFD "CLOWN UNIT" ENTERTAINED & EDUCATED THE MEMBERSHIP AT A RECENT COFFEE BREAK. THE UNIT WILL VISIT SCHOOLS EDUCATING KIDS IN STOP-DROP-AND-ROLL AND VARIOUS OTHER SAFETY AND LIFE SAVING TECHNIQUES. CLOWN UNITS ARE NATIONWIDE AND WE ARE CERTAINLY GLAD TO HAVE THIS ONE.			SOME 1200 STUDENTS AT SHADOW OAKS AND HORN LAKE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS PARTICIPATED IN THE "SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL" DAY. STUDENTS ALONG WITH MAYOR BAKER AND VARIOUS OTHER DIGNITARIES WALKED THE ROUTES THAT WERE PICKED BY THE SCHOOLS.			THE MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES RECENTLY HELD ONE OF THEIR AWESOME "BLOCK PARTIES" AT LATIMER LAKES PARK. THE EVENT INCLUDED A LIVE BAND, SLIDES AND OTHER INFLATABLES FOR THE KIDS, LIVE INTERVIEWS WITH GRIZZLIES COACHES, AND AN AUTOGRAPH SESSION WITH MARCUS WILLIAMS.			THE CHAMBER'S LATEST "AFTER HOURS' WAS HELD AT ON THE BORDER. THE RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 6572 AIRWAYS BLVD. IN SOUTHAVEN IS ONE OF THE CHAMBER'S NEWEST MEMBERS. NETWORKING MEMBERS WERE TREATED TO THE RESTAURANTS VARIOUS FOOD ITEMS.
